Villa L'Aimée - a perfect luxury stay in Nice

Villa L'Aimée is situated in a private cul-de-sac tucked away in a quiet and tranquil quartier away from the noise and hubbub of downtown Nice.  With the excellent and extremely reasonable public transport system in and around the city of Nice, renting a car is not always necessary and guests can easily travel just about anywhere in the Alpes Maritimes.
The accommodation is situated on the first floor of the villa and all rooms have been decorated to a high standard with carefully sourced antiques and original art.  The owner believes that comfortable beds and bedding of the highest quality, together with soft feather pillows and duvets and pure cotton bed linen, are the most important feature of a good bed and breakfast.  Each bedroom has its own bathroom or shower room.  A Continental breakfast is served in the owner's private apartment, which has outstanding views over Nice.
The terrace garden provides a calm oasis where guests are welcome to read or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening before wandering down to a local brasserie, or further on to one of the exciting new restaurants in Nice Old Town.  Ask the owner for restaurant recommendations as, with a background in cooking professionally, she is a true gourmet and loves nothing better than discussing food and making suggestions!

Historical background

Built in 1929 Villa L’Aimée has a rich and exciting history.  Nestled into the beautiful quartier of St Maurice, at the base of Cimiez and bordering the Parc Chambrun, this beautiful villa in Belle Époque style has been lovingly restored by its current owner.  With the unusual exterior marble staircase, original parquet flooring and carefully preserved architectural details, one can still feel the spirit of the elegant era in which the house was constructed.
The villa was originally built as apartments and has survived earthquakes and gunfire during World War II.  It is still possible to see where the damage was repaired.  It remains unique and steadfast overlooking the Parc Chambrun and the exquisite and recently restored Temple de Diane.
